Trio of Seahawks land on all-conference team
Amanda Cronin ’17, Colleen Marcik ’17 and Danielle Phalon ’16 have been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference women’s East all-conference team.
Cronin started every game on defense for the Seahawks and registered 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists) on the year. She is tied for sixth in the league in defensemen scoring and fifth for freshman scoring. Cronin has two power play goals and a game-winning goal this season.
Marcik has anchored the Salve Regina defense this season, posting the top goals against average (2.15), save percentage (.924) and winning percentage (.667) of any first-year goaltender in the tournament. She currently has the second-best save percentage in a single season for the Seahawks while ranking eighth with 475 saves.
Phalon leads the Seahawks with 28 points on the year (11 goals, 17 assists), including two power play goals and one game winner. She is fifth in the league in scoring and tied for third in assists.
With a 10-5-1 record in the conference, the Seahawks earned the No. 2 seed in the playoffs and defeated Plymouth State University 5-0 on Saturday, Feb. 22 in the quarterfinals. Salve Regina will host Castleton State College in the semifinals on Saturday, March 1 at St. George’s.
