Congratulations to men’s soccer player Donald Igo ’20 and women’s volleyball player Kathryn Linekin ’21, who recently earned honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
Igo was named offensive player of the week after helping Salve Regina pick up two wins with a trio of goals. Last Wednesday, he scored the equalizer against Nichols College in the 73rd minute to set the stage for overtime. He followed that up by scoring both goals in a 2-1 victory over Gordon College. His two scores in that contest came just under two minutes apart.
Salve Regina (11-4-3, 5-3-1 CCC) plays at Wentworth Institute of Technology at noon Saturday, Oct. 28 in the conference quarterfinals.
Linekin was named libero of the week after averaging 5.2 digs per set in Salve Regina’s 3-0 week. She set a new single-match high for herself with 21 digs in a conference match against Western New England University, giving her a 7.0 digs per set average. She also had double-digit dig totals in wins against Lesley University (18) and Wentworth Institute of Technology (13).
Salve Regina (15-10, 5-3 CCC) plays at Clark University Thursday, Oct. 26 before finishing the regular season at home against the University of New England at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.
