War College faculty to discuss U.S. strategy in Middle East
Two faculty members from the U.S. Naval War College will visit Salve Regina Wednesday, Dec. 2 for a candid conversation about U.S. strategy in the Middle East.
Sponsored by the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy, “The Legacy: What’s Next for U.S. Policy in the Middle East?” will be held at 7 p.m. in the Bazarsky Lecture Hall.
Fourteen years after the attacks of September 2001 focused American attention on the Middle East, civil war, extremism and uncertainty in the region continues to vex U.S. policymakers and threaten U.S. interests.
What’s at stake? What can the United States hope to achieve in the region? What is the best path ahead for U.S. policy makers to consider? These and other questions will be addressed by Dr. Timothy Hoyt, professor of strategy and policy, and Dr. Hayat Alvi, associate professor of national security affairs.
As seating is limited, those interested in attending are asked to register online. For more information, contact the Pell Center at (401) 341-2927 or pellcenter@salve.edu.
