Wasilewski named to NSCAA all-region team
Forward Alex Wasilewski ’15 has earned a selection to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s 2014 NCAA Division III men’s all-New England fourth team. This is the first time Wasilewski has earned a selection to the all-region team, and he becomes the fifth Seahawk in the last four years named to the squad.
Wasilewski led the Seahawks in goals (6), assists (6) and scoring (18 points). This season, he provided the game-winning goals against the University of Southern Maine, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Roger Williams University. Wasilewski ranks fourth in program history in goals per game (0.33).
“I am so happy for Alex to receive this award,” said head coach Craig O’Rourke II. “After the 2012 season, where he missed over two-thirds of the season with a broken clavicle, he really had to put in a great deal of time and work in the offseason to get himself back up to top form. And I point to all of that extra work and effort that he put in as the reason that he has earned this award. That degree of motivation and self-discipline is what made him an All-New England performer.”
