Winners of inaugural arbor week art show announced
Organizers of Salve Regina’s Newport Arboretum Week activities have announced the winners of a juried exhibition featuring related works by student artists. Entries will be on display in the Antone Academic Center lobby through Friday, April 29.
The winners are:
- Rachel DeLuca ’16 for her charcoal and pastel piece “Hide Out”
- Michaela Siver ’17 for her charcoal and pastel piece “Bellevue Nature”
- Jordan Thuman ’16 for her pen and ink piece “Day and Night”

The University will wrap up its Newport Arboretum Week activities Thursday and Friday with an honor march and tree planting. The honor march will begin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28 near the weeping European beech located behind McKillop Library. The ceremony will feature a short speaking program and music by students under the direction of Peter Davis, chairman of the department of music, theatre and dance. At 1 p.m. Friday, April 29, a new weeping European beech will be planted on the grounds between McKillop Library and Wakehurst.
