Women’s ice hockey earns four all-conference selections
The women’s ice hockey team placed four on the Eastern College Athletic Conference Women’s East all-conference teams.
Rachel Porter ’13 was named to the first team for the second time in the last two seasons. Already holding the school’s season point record, she broke the program’s career assist record and became the only player to break the 100-point mark. Porter finished her career with 102 points, including 57 assists. She finished tied for second in the league in assists and was the top overall defensemen in scoring.
Ali Muehlbronner ’13, one of the top goaltenders in the league, was named to the second team. She finished the season with a 2.35 goals against average, which ranks second on Salve Regina’s all-time single season list, and a 90.6 save percentage. Muehlbronner’s 567 saves ranks her fifth all-time in single season saves and pushes her career total to 1,326, fourth all-time.
Taylor Shepherd ’15 was named to the honorable mention team. She finished the year with 24 points, and her 12 goals ranked second on the team and 10th in the league. Shepherd finished the season tied for third in the league with 12 power play points and fourth in power play goals.
Danielle Phalon ’16 was named to the all-rookie team. She finished the year fourth in the league in freshman scoring with 18 points and paced the Seahawks with three game-winning goals.
