Workshop focusing on respect in the workplace
The Office of Human Resources is sponsoring “Respect in Your Workplace,” a workshop designed to give employees and managers specific tools and practical tips that promote respect and effective communication in the workplace.
This “Lunch and Learn” workshop will be held at noon Thursday, March 10 in the McKillop Library’s special collections room. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch.
We all want to work in a respectful and comfortable environment. Communication problems can result in poor conflict management, causing low morale, low productivity and difficulty in retaining talented employees.
Led by Glenn Miller from Coastline EAP, the workshop’s objectives include:
- Understand communication styles and the effect your style has on others
- Develop effective and communicative techniques for expressing difficult feelings without damaging relationships
- Be able to identify levels of hostility
- Develop effective workplace responses to incivility
