Alumni returning to campus for Reunion Weekend 2014

Hundreds of alumni, along with their families and friends, will return to Salve Regina and Newport June 6-8 for Reunion Weekend. Alumni from the classes of 1951-1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004 and 2009 are invited to come back to the University and be part of the celebration.

Five graduates will be presented with Alumni Achievement Awards, given to graduates who are role models to Salve Regina students and alumni. This year’s recipients are Virginia Ouelette Gobeli ’64, Helen Dorflinger Ryan ’69, Richard Santilli ’89, Robert Skeffington ’89 and Michael Walsh ’04. In addition, Mary Elizabeth Murray Magee ’54 will receive the Exceptional Volunteer Award.

Unless otherwise specified, all events are free. The weekend’s events include:

Friday, June 6

  • Reunion kickoff reception – 5-8 p.m., Ochre Court.
  • Night at the Landing – 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., the Landing, downtown Newport.

Saturday, June 7

  • Circle of Scholars forum – 9:30 a.m., McAuley Hall.
  • 50th Anniversary Society Mass – 11 a.m., Our Lady of Mercy Chapel.
  • 50th Anniversary Society reception and ceremony – Noon, Ochre Court.
  • 50th Anniversary Society luncheon – 12:30 p.m., Ochre Court, $10.
  • Class of 1964 50th reunion luncheon – 12:30 p.m., Ochre Court.
  • Class of 1989 25th reunion cocktail reception – 4-6 p.m., William Watts Sherman House.
  • All-class New England clam boil and disco – 6-11 p.m., Ochre Court, $40.
  • Class of 1989 25th reunion party – 10 p.m., William Watts Sherman House.

Sunday, June 8

  • Mass – 11 a.m., Our Lady of Mercy Chapel.
  • Reunion brunch – Noon, Ochre Court, $25.
