Faculty and staff are invited to add their name to a waitlist for “Strength and Balance,” a women in leadership event sponsored by the Rhode Island Higher Education Training Consortium.

Although the session is currently full, joining the waitlist will allow organizers to gauge the level of interest to determine whether the event will be offered again in the spring.

“Strength and Balance” will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15 at Providence College’s Slavin Center. Sessions include:

  • “Yoga at Your Desk: Techniques for Stress and Tension Relief”
  • “Discovering and Using Your Unique Strengths”
  • “Clean Food Cooking Demo”
  • “Managing Work/Life Integration”

The Office of Human Resources encourages the professional and personal development of faculty and staff, and several staff members have had the opportunity to participate in the consortium’s programs in the recent past. Faculty and staff who are interested should contact their supervisor, who will work with Human Resources regarding placement and funding.

The Rhode Island Higher Education Training Consortium is dedicated to providing the higher education workforce with the training they need to succeed, while affording opportunities to network with colleagues from other area institutions.
