Jen Cruver ’13 was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference pitcher of the week after pitching her team to six straight wins last week. The softball team is now 4-0 in the conference.

The Seahawks never trailed last week as Cruver posted an impressive 0.78 ERA, which included two complete-game shutouts. She had a 15:7 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and also helped her own cause at the plate with RBI in five out of six games, while batting .333 (6-for-18).

Salve Regina has six conference games on the slate this week: doubleheaders against rival Roger Williams University (4 p.m. Wednesday, April 3 at Toppa Field), at Western New England University (Saturday, April 6) and at Curry College (Sunday, April 7).

The Seahawks currently own the league’s best overall record. Cruver tops all conference pitchers with 111.2 innings pitched, and her 15 complete games also lead the conference.
