Dance Marathon organizers holding kickoff event
Seeking to build excitement for next month’s second annual Dance Marathon, organizers will hold a kickoff event at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 in the Wakehurst fireplace lounge.
Scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, March 28 to noon Saturday, March 29 in Ochre Court, the Dance Marathon will benefit Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence. The goal is to raise $15,000.
Thursday’s kickoff will feature food, games and videos from last year’s event. Anyone who is interested in learning more about this year’s Dance Marathon is invited to attend.
“The Dance Marathon kickoff event is our way of creating awareness for our big event in March,” said Corilyn Henault ’15, one of the organizers. “Our greatest need is dancers, dancers, dancers. With more dancers comes more fundraising, and we want everyone to know it’s all ‘For the Kids’ at Hasbro.”
Students can register for the dance marathon and start a personal fundraising page at www.helpmakemiracles.org/event/salvedancemarathon. Registration is $10 and students are required to raise at least $40 in pledges to participate.
