Expanded schedule features new activities, specialty food nights

From food trucks and arcade games to wings and trivia, the Office of Student Engagement and Sodexo Dining Services have partnered to offer a greatly expanded schedule of student activities and specialty food nights in Gerety Hall throughout the spring semester.

Mondays: DIY nights with food available at 8:30 p.m. Scheduled activities include trail mix, chalkboard magnets, Valentine’s Day cards, slime stress balls, finger painting, bullet journals, watercolor quotes, pet rocks and vision boards.

Tuesdays: Game nights, with food available at 8:30 p.m. Scheduled activities include Minute to Win It and arcade nights.

Wednesdays: Wings and trivia nights, with food available at 8 p.m.

Thursdays: A variety of Things for Thursday events, held at varying times throughout the semester. Scheduled activities include stuff-a-bear, truffle making, karaoke, Spring Week shirts, Inpopnito popcorn and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Late-night food will also be available on Thursdays at 8:30 p.m.

Fridays: A variety of Friday Night Live events, held at varying times throughout the semester. Scheduled activities include paint night, Seahawk Feud, Monster Bingo and variety show and last call party.

Food trucks: Haven Brothers will serve their burgers, Haven dogs, fries, fried dough, floats and more from 7-10 p.m. on Sundays through Feb. 23. In addition, A Mano Pizza will serve their authentic brick oven pizza on select dates through the end of February. Debit/credit cards and the Salve Card (points only) will be accepted as payment options.

Late-night menu: On evenings that food trucks are not available outside of Gerety Hall, Sodexo will serve a rotating menu of grilled cheese, foot-long hot dogs, specialty macaroni and cheese, French toast sticks, boneless wings, tater tots and more.

A vending machine featuring assorted macaroni and cheese, soups, calzones, egg sandwiches, snack cups, cheesecake cups, yogurt, apples and caramel, meats and cheeses and snack trios will be available later in the semester. The McKillop Library cafe has also expanded its selection and is now offering assorted macaroni and cheese, calzones, bagel bites, pizza rolls, frozen entrees, egg sandwiches and soups. Debit/credit cards and the Salve Card will be accepted as payment options in both locations.

      A virtual information session is designed for those who are in the college search and application process. If you would like to learn more about Salve Regina University and have your questions answered in a live chat, this is the best place to start. Our sessions last approximately one hour.

      You will also be able to view our virtual tour as part of your registration for this presentation.

    • Reunion Weekend
      Friday, June 3 to Sunday, June 5

      Reunion Weekend will be packed with exciting events both on and off campus. It's been too long since we've been able to welcome you to campus for a reunion celebration, so these events are sure to be worth the trip back to Newport. Return to campus and reconnect with your classmates - all alumni are welcome to attend.
