Extensions Dance Company and Extensions II, the University’s pre-professional dance companies, will hold auditions at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 in the Rodgers Recreation Center, Room 039. Students who wish to audition should be prepared to take a contemporary dance class. There is no need to prepare any material prior to the audition.

Directed by associate professor Lindsay Guarino, Extensions Dance Company and Extensions II are both academic courses with a full year commitment. The selected ensembles will meet Tuesday evenings for technique class, rehearse approximately 10 hours a week, and perform a number of times throughout the year.

Extensions Dance Company performs at events on campus, including fully produced concerts at the Casino and Megley theaters, and at off-campus events throughout the region. Extensions trains at an advanced level of technique while working with a variety of guest artists who visit campus and set choreography in intensive-style workshops. Featured guest artists in the 2018-2019 academic year include Kat Pantos of Boston-based Pantos Project, Buffalo, New York-based jazz artist Carlos Jones, and Cayley Christoforou ’15.

Students who plan to audition should arrive early to warm up and register. For more information on Extensions, contact Guarino at (401) 341-2422 or lindsay.guarino@salve.edu. Updates and casting will be posted to the Salve Regina University Dance Program Facebook page. Follow salve_regina_dance on Instagram for updates and for more information on the dance program.
