Jeff Bielefeld ’14, Joshua Hohlfelder ’14, John King ’15, Eric MacKinnon ’15 and Scott St. Lawrence ’14 were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches’ Honors Court after an outstanding 2013-2014 season that had the Seahawks earn a trip to the Commonwealth Coast Conference men’s basketball semifinals.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, students must meet a high standard of academic criteria, including:

  • Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2013-2014 academic year.
  • Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
  • Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA institution.

The association also announced the second annual Team Academic Excellence Awards. Earned by more than 125 colleges and universities, these awards recognize outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better for the 2013-2014 season. The five Seahawks helped their Salve Regina squad earn the team recognition.
