Students are invited to take a break from their studies for the chance to win more than $500 in prizes by participating in the second annual FlashLit Film Adaptation Challenge. The challenge, which begins Friday, April 4, requires students to adapt a literary work into a three- to five-minute film in just 72 hours.

On Friday, student teams will sign up, learn tips for successful filmmaking and discover what work of literature they will adapt. The kickoff event will be held at 1 p.m. in the McKillop Library, Room 106.

Teams will have the weekend to script, film and edit their short film before submitting it by 1 p.m. Monday, April 7.

The event is co-sponsored by the Department of English, the Center for Student Development, the Film Club and the McKillop Library. For more information, contact Dr. Madeleine Esch at madeleine.esch@salve.edu, or visit the Department of English on Facebook.
