HR sponsoring assault response class for women
An assault response class for women, designed to provide strategies, tactics, tools and know-how for responding to violent situations, will be held at Salve Regina on Tuesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 20.
Sponsored by Amerikick Martial Arts School in Middletown and the Office of Human Resources, the class will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Ochre Court library.
Do you walk home from class alone, walk unattended to your car, enter your home alone, walk or jog alone or shop alone? Protect yourself against domestic and street violence. Learn to take control, no matter your size or strength … even if your attacker is bigger, stronger or faster.
The class has been developed exclusively for women with no martial arts experience. Participants will discover the ability to handle violence, develop situational awareness to avoid hostility and master the art of targeting lethal soft spots.
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes. To register for the class, contact Cindy Donnelly at (401) 341-3160 or cynthia.donnelly@salve.edu.
