Men’s basketball coach Sean Foster ’97 has named two captains for the 2013-2014 season: Jeff Bielefeld ’14 and Joshua Hohlfelder ’14.

“Our staff is excited to have such dynamic leadership going into the 2013-2014 season,” Foster said. “Jeff and Josh are tremendous people, excellent students and hard-working athletes. Their positive example will be extremely beneficial to our younger players. We are excited to see the direction in which their leadership can take us this year.”

Bielefeld and Hohlfelder have brought the Seahawks to two Commonwealth Coast Conference finals appearances, winning the title in 2011 as freshmen before advancing to the NCAA Division III championships. They also contributed to a program-best 21-win season in 2011-2012.

Both captains have earned academic honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches as members of the honors court.

Salve Regina opens its 2013-2014 campaign Friday, Nov. 15 at Johnson & Wales University in a non-league contest. The Seahawks have their home opener at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, when they host Connecticut College.
