The Center for Community Engagement and Service is offering two different service-focused programs in March, including the Spring Break Service Immersion and the Service Plunge 2.0. Spots for these experiences are filling up, so please read below to find out more information and to apply.

Spring Break Service Immersion
March 11-15

For anyone looking for an exciting way to serve their community over spring break, the Center for Community Engagement and Service is offering the Spring Break Service Immersion from Friday, March 11 through Tuesday, March 15.

Salve Regina student volunteers will spend part of their spring break expanding their understanding of the critical concerns of mercy. More specifically, volunteers will be working with various nonprofit community partners by helping them to organize, adapt to modern technologies and spring clean — all while helping them to better serve the community and be a more visible presence on Aquidneck Island.

This is important work, and many volunteers will be needed. The Center for Community Engagement and Service aims to have this immersion as an opportunity to illuminate the needs of the community and give student volunteers a better sense of the work that nonprofits do on a daily basis.

Interested students can apply here. Registration is open until Feb. 25 or until all spots are filled.

Service Plunge 2.0
March 25-27

Each spring semester, the Center for Community Engagement and Service hosts the Service Plunge 2.0 — an offshoot of the larger Service Plunge that happens every fall semester. This year, Service Plunge 2.0’s volunteer retreat will be from Friday, March 25 through Sunday, March 27, and participants will have the opportunity to work closely with nonprofit organizations focused on helping the environment.

Interested students can apply here. Applications will close when 20 students are signed up.

This post is part of an ongoing series called Mercy Mondays that highlights Salve Regina’s dedication to its Mercy Mission. Search the tag Mercy Mission for more updates on the Mercy branches of Salve Regina.
