Fashion or sports? Campus issues or upcoming events? National news or op-eds? The editors of Mosaic, the University’s student newspaper, are inviting members of the Salve Regina community to suggest stories they’d like to see covered this semester by participating in the first-ever Candy and Copy event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 in the O’Hare Academic Center lobby.

To participate, people simply need to stop by O’Hare and write down their suggestions on an easel available for that purpose. “Our ultimate goal is to strengthen the Salve Regina community by delivering stories about current issues and events that inform and enlighten,” said Brittany Lauro, the newspaper’s co-editor-in-chief.

Ideas for the biweekly online edition are welcome as are suggestions for the paper’s two special print editions, one of which will be produced in November. Candy will be available for all who participate.

Students can also sign up for positions on the newspaper staff. Openings are available for writers, reporters, videographers, designers, photographers and editors. No prior newspaper experience is necessary, and all majors are welcome.

For more information, contact Brittany Lauro or Lauren Kane. Students can also keep in touch with Mosaic through Facebook and Twitter.
