In order to help ensure that students living off campus this semester due to the pandemic can have more options for food and beverages, Salve Regina is announcing new partnerships with its Salve Card in the downtown area of Newport.

The first partnership is with the Newport Marriott, which is located downtown Newport on 25 American Cup Ave. The Salve Card can be used for all of the Marriot’s dining services, the spa and the gift shop.

The Salve Card will now also be accepted at Diego’s and The Wharf Southern Kitchen and Whiskey Bar (also known as The Wharf Pub), which are both located on Bowens Wharf right off of American Cup Ave. Students, as well as faculty and staff, can now make purchases at these downtown locations using their Salve Card.

The Salve Card, the identification card that all students receive, is used for access to the residence halls, meals in the cafeteria and public transportation on the trolley. But it can also be loaded with money and used at select off-campus dining and shopping venues.

The Salve Card has two banks of funds on each card: points and Seahawk bucks. Points are dollars that students and parents deposit onto the card, and points can be added using the attached link. Seahawk bucks are loaded onto the card by the University for residence students. Only points funds can be used at off campus locations, while Seahawk bucks are available for use at any on campus Sodexo location.

Anyone interested can learn more about the Salve Card here.

All merchants that accept the Salve Card include:

  • A Market, 181 Bellevue Ave., Newport
  • CVS, 181 Bellevue Ave., Newport
  • Diego’s, 11 Bowen’s Wharf, Newport
  • Harry’s Bar and Burger, 464 Thames St., Newport
  • LaForge Restaurant, 186 Bellevue Ave., Newport
  • Newport Marriott (dining, spa and gift shop), 25 America’s Cup Ave., Newport
