The Commonwealth Coast Conference has selected Sara Nelson ’14 as its player of the week and Lexi Soucie ’17 as its rookie of the week for softball.

Nelson batted .714 (five for seven) in a doubleheader sweep at Roger Williams University last week, belting a home run in each game. She batted in five runs during a 7-2 win in game and added a solo shot in the fourth inning of game two. Nelson now leads the Seahawks with four home runs on the season.

Soucie collected five hits in nine at bats in the two games against the Hawks. Four of her five hits went for extra bases, as she now ranks second in the league in extra base hits (12 doubles, two triples, two home runs). From her leadoff spot in the order, Soucie scored four runs in the doubleheader and drove in two for the Seahawks.
