American studies majors to give thesis presentations

The American studies program will hold its annual senior thesis presentations Wednesday, Dec. 11 in the Ochre Court state dining room. Three senior American studies majors are scheduled to present their theses.

Members of the Salve Regina community and the general public are invited to attend, and may stay for any length of time. The presenters include:

  • Melissa Andrade: “La Survivance and Catholicism: The French Canadian Community of Saint Jacques in Taunton, Massachusetts”
  • Tara Crimmins: “Irish, Catholic, American: How Jesuits in New York City, Particularly the Rev. Joseph O’Hare, S.J., Helped Shape an American Identity in the Twentieth Century”
  • Anne Mallin: “American Identity Through Italianate Architecture: Edward King’s Nineteenth-Century Newport Villa”
