Senior history majors to give thesis presentations

The Department of History will present the 29th annual Senior Seminar Friday, Dec. 7 in McAuley Hall, Room 105 and Saturday, Dec. 8 in the DiStefano Lecture Hall. Eighteen senior history majors are scheduled to deliver their thesis presentations over the two-day period.

Members of the Salve Regina community and the general public are invited to attend, and may stay for any length of time. The schedule for the 29th annual Senior Seminar is:

Friday, Dec. 7

  • 1 p.m. – Sarah DeVito: “The Wearing of the Tartan: Nineteenth Century Scotland’s Unique Brand of Nationalism”
  • 1:40 p.m. – Sarah Erichsen: “Crude Intentions: Saudi-American Oil Policy from 1930-1960”
  • 2:20 p.m. – Zeena Barbarita: “No Light at the End of the Tunnel: Nixon’s Attempted Pullout from Vietnam”
  • 3 p.m. – Sean Moriarty: “The Iran Hostage Crisis and the Downfall of the Carter Administration”
  • 3:40 p.m. – Kathryn Johnson: “Guilty until Proven Innocent: The Fall of Anne Boleyn”
  • 4:20 p.m. – Nicholas Patti: “The Evolution of an Icon: John Brown and the Shifting Perceptions of One of America’s Most Provocative Citizens”
  • 5 p.m. – Matthew Lawber: “Dirty Money: The Collaboration of I.G. Farben and Adolf Hitler”

Saturday, Dec. 8
