The Office of Community Service is inviting students to participate in Service Scholarships for Seahawks, a yearlong civic engagement and service program.

Open to freshmen, sophomores and juniors, Service Scholarships for Seahawks requires students to perform approximately 150 hours of community service and leadership development training during the academic year. In exchange for their service, students receive a stipend of $1,000 towards their educational experience.

One hundred service hours must be completed at one of four approved sites: Child & Family, Learning Unlimited, Norman Bird Sanctuary or the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center’s K-5 program.

Students in the program must also:

  • Complete 40 service hours at any approved nonprofit organization
  • Attend six mandatory meetings (Three per semester, can be counted as hours)
  • Complete one four-hour group service project

For more information, or to complete the online application, visit the Service Scholarships for Seahawks webpage.
