Sodexo offering scholarship opportunities for students
Sodexo, Salve Regina’s dining services provider, has made fighting hunger the central focus of its community service efforts. To that end, Sodexo’s nonprofit foundation is offering two scholarship opportunities for students working to eliminate hunger in their communities.
Stephen J. Brady STOP Hunger Scholarship
The scholarships recognize and reward students who have made a significant impact in the fight against hunger. Scholarship recipients each receive $5,000 for their education and a matching $5,000 grant for the hunger-related charity of their choice. The deadline to apply is Thursday, Dec. 5.
Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution and must have demonstrated ongoing commitment to their community by performing unpaid volunteer services impacting hunger in the United States within the last 12 months. Scholarship funds must be used for tuition and related fees, books, supplies and equipment required for courses at an accredited post-secondary institution.

Youth Grants
The $500 grants will fund youth-led community service projects designed to address childhood hunger. Projects will take place on and around Global Youth Service Day, April 11-13, 2014. They are especially interested in projects that bring together young people, families, Sodexo employees and other community members.
