Student Activities seeking orientation leaders for Class of 2017
The Office of Student Activities is seeking students with high energy and school spirit to serve as orientation leaders for the Class of 2017. Students interested in serving as orientation leaders are encouraged to attend one of two information sessions being held in the coming weeks.
Orientation leaders help new students transition to the Salve Regina community. As one of the first points of contact for new students, orientation leaders are trained to know about campus resources and to answer questions and ease concerns of entering freshmen as well as their parents.
Interest meetings will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28 and Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the Bazarsky Lecture Hall. Applications for orientation leader positions will be available at the meetings or in the Office of Student Activities (Wakehurst 012) beginning Monday, Jan. 28.
All students who are interested in working summer orientation must complete the Career Development summer interest form by Friday, Feb. 8. This form is located in the Gateway system.
Orientation leader applications are due in the Office of Student Activities by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15. There will be two rounds of interviews and the final staff will be announced March 8.
All applicants must be in good academic and social standing with the University. Applicants must be available for training throughout the spring 2013 semester and must be available to work the orientation program from Sunday, June 9 through Friday, June 28. Compensation will be discussed at the interest meeting.
