Summer study abroad in Oxford offers experiential learning
Students who are interested in Salve Regina’s summer study abroad program at St. Clare’s in Oxford, England are invited to an information session scheduled for 12:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 in the O’Hare Academic Center, Room 106.
Led by Dr. Stephen Trainor, the summer program in Oxford allows students to earn six credits by choosing two courses from a variety of offerings taught by faculty from Salve Regina, St. Clare’s and Oxford University. Scheduled for May 27 to June 26, the program emphasizes experiential learning, with almost daily trips to sites that feature in the course readings.
Students will be housed in double occupancy rooms in St. Clare’s residence halls. The program features field trips to London, Bath and Yorkshire and offers students the opportunity to see a play at an exact replica of the Globe Theater.
The program fee is $6,650, which includes round-trip airfare from Boston, tuition for six credits, airport transfers, accommodations in Oxford, one or two group meals, official excursions and entrance fees, and international travel insurance.
