Theatre arts program holding auditions for fall productions
Salve Regina’s theatre arts program will hold auditions for its fall 2013 productions at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 and Monday, Sept. 9 in the Megley Theatre (Antone Academic Center, Room 127).
Rehearsals will be held from 6-10 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. The plays are:
“10 Virgins,” written by Laura Jacqmin and directed by Reggie Phoenix. Inspired by classic fairy tales and folklore, “10 Virgins” explores what it means to find our way in the world and what consequences come from the paths we choose. The cast includes 11 women. Rehearsals will begin Sept. 10 for performances Oct. 24-27.
“Antigone,” written by Sophocles and directed by Jennifer Madden. In “Antigone,” a sister is torn between the love for her brother and honoring the king she serves. What happens when two individuals’ need to be right comes before all else? The cast includes eight men and six women. Rehearsals will begin Oct. 15 for performances Nov. 21-24.
The theatre arts program seeks non-traditional casts. People of color are encouraged to attend. Casting is open to all members of the Salve Regina community.
