Traynor named to academic all-district team

Wide receiver Matthew Traynor ’15 has been named to the 2014 Capitol One Academic All-District Team (District 2) for football by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Traynor is a financial management major with a cumulative 3.45 GPA.

Traynor set the program’s single-season record for reception yards (944) and touchdown catches (nine) in 2013. He ranks first in program history with 24 touchdown receptions and 17.6 average yards per catch. Traynor also ranks second in program history for career receiving yards (2376) and third in program history for career receptions (135).

This season, Traynor has caught 38 passes for 617 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging a career-best 102.8 yards per game.
