All University employees are invited to take part in a summer walking challenge scheduled to run from Wednesday, July 11 through Wednesday, Aug. 8.
The competition will pit Salve Regina against all other edHealth colleges and universities. EdHEALTH is the employee health insurance collaboration Salve Regina joined in 2016 to offer quality health care at lower costs.
The goal is to walk 10,000 steps per day, seven days a week, for a month. Participants who meet the step goal each week will be entered into a raffle. In addition, a prize valued at $100 will be awarded to the top stepper and the college/university with the highest step average will receive an engraved trophy.
All Salve Regina participants will compete as a team against teams from Bentley University, Berklee College of Music, Boston College, Brandeis University, Emerson College, Franklin W. Olin College, Lasell College, Regis College, Suffolk University, Wellesley College, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Wheaton College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Registration is open through Tuesday, July 17. To join the challenge and log their steps, participants should create a guest account at www.harvardpilgrim.org/wellnessaccount. Salve’s guest code is C22199.
A limited number of pedometers are available in the Office of Human Resources, on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information on the challenge, call Claudia Cavallaro at (401) 341-2332. If you need assistance with the Harvard Wellness website, call (877) 594-7183.
