Women’s soccer players Abby McMackin ’19 and Christine Pala ’17 have been named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference all-league team.
More than any other Seahawk, McMackin shifted constantly from forward to back within games and was able to provide some offense as well. She scored two goals on the year – both game winners – and added two assists. Pala anchored a stingy Seahawk defense that shut out opponents eight times in 18 regular season contests.
“Christine and Abby are very deserving of this recognition from my fellow conference coaches,” said head coach Jane Walsh. “They have shuffled in and out of the back line and have been instrumental to our consistency on defense.”
Salve Regina has earned the conference’s sixth seed for the upcoming championships and will face third seed Endicott College on Saturday, Oct. 29 in the quarterfinal round.
