University community invited to Fall Festival Weekend events

Members of the Salve Regina community are invited to join alumni, parents and friends for a wide variety of activities related to Fall Festival Weekend, which begins Friday, Oct. 3 and wraps up Sunday, Oct. 5. Students, faculty and staff are welcome to participate in any or all weekend events.

Friday, Oct. 3

  • Kickoff barbecue and celebration – 4:30 p.m., Wakehurst lawn, $10 for adults
  • Hunger Concert – 8 p.m., Ochre Court, $5 for adults and $3 for students and children under 10
  • Young alumni events – 9 p.m., O’Brien’s Pub, Newport

Saturday, Oct. 4

  • Fourth annual Kids Fun Run – 8 a.m., Rodgers Recreation Center
  • 15th annual 5K Mansion Run and Walk – 8:30 a.m., Rodgers Recreation Center, $20
  • Men’s alumni lacrosse – 8:30 a.m., Gaudet Field, Middletown
  • Discover Newport city tour – 9-10:30 a.m., Miley Hall parking lot (sold out)
  • 11th annual Fall Festival awards ceremony – 10 a.m., Bazarsky Lecture Hall
  • Spirit tent – 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Rodgers Recreation Center
  • Alumni volleyball – 11 a.m., Rodgers Recreation Center
  • Men’s rugby – 11 a.m., Fort Adams, Newport
  • “Living Off Campus: What You Need to Know” – Noon, Bazarsky Lecture Hall
  • Women’s soccer – Noon, Brother Reynolds Field
  • Homecoming football game – 1 p.m., Gaudet Field, Middletown
  • Pell Honors Program reception – 1-3 p.m., Ochre Court
  • Women’s rugby – 1 p.m., Fort Adams, Newport
  • Women’s tennis – 1 p.m., Leroy Avenue tennis courts
  • Women’s volleyball – 1 p.m., Rodgers Recreation Center
  • Men’s soccer – 3 p.m., Brother Reynolds Field
  • Sigma Phi Sigma induction ceremony – 3 p.m., Our Lady of Mercy Chapel
  • Athletic Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony – 6 p.m., Ochre Court, $50 per guest
  • Women’s field hockey – 6 p.m., Gaudet Field, Middletown
  • Film screening: “How to Train Your Dragon 2” – 9 p.m., Bazarsky Lecture Hall
  • Night in Newport – 9 p.m., Midtown Oyster Bar, Newport

Sunday, Oct. 5

  • Mass – 11 a.m., Our Lady of Mercy Chapel
