USS sponsoring series of Microsoft workshops

User Support Services will sponsor a series of Microsoft workshops for members of the Salve Regina community throughout the month of March. Dan Titus, associate director of User Support Services, will conduct the workshops in the McKillop Library, computer lab 006.

Participants may attend any or all of the sessions. Registration is not required, but those who are interested may contact Titus at (401) 341-2451 or titusd@salve.edu for more information.

PowerPoint 2010

10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 6 and Friday, March 7

Never used PowerPoint? Know how to use it but want to do more with it? No experience is needed, and by the end of this workshop you will feel comfortable using basic and advanced features. Topics include set-up, formatting, images, movies, sounds, transitions, animation, and how to run and share your masterpiece.

Visio 2010

11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 20

Microsoft’s diagramming and vector graphics application, Visio is an intelligent diagramming program that empowers you to communicate in a visual manner. Features like flowcharts, organization charts, and project scheduling diagrams for technical as well as non-technical representations of ideas, processes, concepts, structures, layouts, software models, and blueprints can be created.

Project 2010

11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 27

This project management software is designed to assist a project manager in developing a plan, assigning resources to tasks, tracking progress, managing the budget, and analyzing workloads.
