VIRGO sponsoring “Enough is Enough” campaign
Members of the student organization VIRGO (Volunteers Invested in Reaching and Guiding Others) are taking action to stop violence on college campuses by bringing the “Enough is Enough” campaign to Salve Regina.
VIRGO will sponsor an informational table from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 2 in the O’Hare Academic Center lobby. The club will raise awareness of all types of violence, including cyber bullying, gender and sexuality discrimination, harassment and physical assault.
Students are invited to stop by and sign a pledge to keep the campus community safe by reporting issues that may impact others’ safety, not be violent or disruptive to others, take a stance against cyber bullying and be an active bystander for victims of hate, bullying and violence.
A national campaign aimed at stemming societal violence, “Enough is Enough” is a critical collaboration designed to create a new paradigm for peace and safety on the nation’s campuses – from elementary through postsecondary. The campaign addresses the societal violence that has contributed to unprecedented violence in some of the very places that students should feel most safe.
