Winners of annual “Faces of Mercy” contest announced

Sister Leona Misto, vice president for mission integration, has announced the winners of the annual “Faces of Mercy” contest. In all, 45 members of the Salve Regina community submitted entries to the contest, and each submission displayed the concept of mercy with creativity and dignity. Entries will be on display in the McKillop Library through Wednesday, April 17.
Sponsored by the mission committee, the “Faces of Mercy” invited all members of the University community – students, faculty, staff, alumni and parents – to reflect on mercy in their everyday lives.
The winners are:
- First place – “A Children’s Story” by Maeve Shaughnessy ’15
- Second place – “Mercy Makes Us Whole” by Zachary Mehuren ’15
- Second place – “PSA on Homelessness in Rhode Island” by Carolyn Artesani ’14
- Third place – “Lucy’s Boutique” by Jessica Testa ’15
- Honorable mention – “Letter to patients at Hasbro Children’s Hospital” by Emily Barkan ’15
- Honorable mention – “Faces of Mercy Salve Style” by Matthew J. Kelly
