What impact does social media have on our ability to connect with others? David Dawson, director of counseling services, will explore this topic during a workshop scheduled for noon Thursday, Feb. 12 in the Miley Hall executive dining room.

Dawson will discuss some of the social media outlets used by both the older adult population and the college age population. He will also outline research trends that identify increases in anxiety levels of individuals who utilize social media for social validation.

Attendees will be encouraged to participate in a group discussion about their use of social media and trends they have witnessed in others’ interpersonal relationship skills as impacted by social media outlets.

Those who express in attending the workshop will be asked to complete a short survey in advance of the session. To register, contact Cindy Donnelly at (401) 341-3160 or cynthia.donnelly@salve.edu.
