Salve Regina boasts the highest career placement rate among all Rhode Island institutions and ranks second highest in the country, according to career site Zippia.

Using data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System to assess colleges and universities based on the number of alumni that have a job within 10 years of graduation, Salve Regina’s placement rate of 95.9 percent ranks it second in the nation and first in the Ocean State.

“Besides its campus emitting images of Hogwarts, Salve Regina University’s second best quality is getting its graduates jobs,” wrote Zippia’s McLeod Brown.

“I am pleased to say that our institution has responded to the needs not only of our students but also to new needs in terms of skills and academic preparation,” said President Jane Gerety, RSM. “We have launched a doctorate program in nursing, expanded our programs and experiential learning opportunities in business, engaged in ground-breaking research in the sciences and endowed programs in cultural and historic preservation and history. We have opened a digital forensics lab and incorporated cyber education across the undergraduate curriculum. We also established a campus in Warwick to serve the academic needs of working adults in graduate and continuing education programs.”

In addition to faculty from all of Salve’s academic majors and areas of study advising students throughout their undergraduate careers and beyond, the University’s Office of Career Development provides assistance for students to identify, understand and successfully merge their educational and career goals.

“We offer a wide range of services and resources, including individual career advising, career assessment tools, exclusive online job and internship resources, targeted workshops and programs on resume building, interviewing skills and networking strategies,” said Michael Wisnewski, director of career development.
