This year for Easter break, the Mercy Center for Spiritual Life is excited to host the following events for students remaining on campus.

The Stations of the Cross walk across campus

Fr. Ray has written a document that helps participants walk through Salve Regina’s campus and reflect upon the Stations of the Cross and their significance. Participants can embark upon a contemplative walk through campus using the words and prayers from Fr. Ray as inspiration to prepare themselves for Easter weekend.

Thursday, April 1 through Saturday, April 3: Triduum services

Triduum services are being offered by Fr. Scott J. Pontes, the University’s chaplain, at St. Joseph’s Church. The church is located at the corner of Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport. These services include various times on Holy Thursday (April 1), Good Friday (April 2) and the Easter Vigil (April 3). For more information, visit St. Joseph’s website by clicking here.

Students coming from campus are encouraged to take the trolley to St. Joseph’s, and students staying at the Marriott can walk about 10 minutes down Broadway to the church.

Sunday, April 4: Easter Sunday Mass

Easter Sunday Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel.

Monday, April 5:

Easter Bible Bingo will be held in the Mercy Center for Spiritual Life at 2:00 p.m. Relax, have fun and win some prizes. All are welcome! No registration required. The Mercy Center for Spiritual Life is located on the lower level of the chapel.

Jellybean contest

Students are encouraged to visit the Mercy Center for Spiritual Life between now and Easter Sunday for a jellybean contest to guess how many jellybeans are in a jar. The winner will be announced at Mass on Easter Sunday and will receive an Easter gift basket.

For those students leaving campus for break, the center wishes everyone a joyful and blessed Easter and Passover!
