The proper ethical, moral and possible kinetic responses to a cyber attack against both nations and private organizations will be the subject of an upcoming roundtable discussion sponsored by the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy.
“Cyber Warfare: Crossing the Digital Line” will be held at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14 in the Miley Hall executive dining room.
Moderated by Brandon Catalan, lecturer in the Department of Administration of Justice and a Pell Center faculty fellow, the roundtable will explore the following questions: Is a kinetic response justified? When is a kinetic response justified? Participants will examine various real-world case studies, including Stuxnet, Saudi Aramco and a recent cyber-attack against a dam in New York where the flood control gates were targeted.
Roundtable discussions are open to Salve Regina students, faculty and staff. The Pell Center provides a free lunch. As space is limited, those interested in attending should RSVP to (401) 341-2927 or pellcenter@salve.edu.
